You can now purchase mercari items through the Otsukai platform! Simply log in to Otsukai, go to the mercari page, search for the item you're looking for, and place your order.♪


Here’s how it works:

  1. Log in to Otsukai

  2. Go to the mercari page and search for the item you want

  3. Purchase the item a. When making your first purchase, you’ll need to buy one personal shipping box. This box includes shipping to your registered address. b. Once you select the box, click the purchase button.

  4. You can choose to ship "Immediately" or "After 30 days". If you select 30 days, you can continue buying mercari items during that period and have them all shipped together in your personal box.

  5. Once your mercari items arrive at the Otsukai warehouse, they’ll be forwarded to you.

  6. When your package arrives, please confirm the delivery by submitting a rating.

? About Our Services & Plans

Q. What is the difference between “Bulk Shipping” and “Immediate Shipping”?

A. We offer two plans to suit your needs:

  • Bulk Shipping: You can store multiple items in the Otsukai warehouse for up to one month and have them shipped together at once. This plan helps you significantly save on international shipping costs and is ideal if you plan to buy several items.

  • Immediate Shipping: Items you purchase are shipped right away, without storage. The shipping cost is higher, but this plan is best if you need a specific item as soon as possible.

Q. Can I change the weight setting at any time?

  • Yes, you can increase the weight for each purchase.

    If your total order ends up weighing more than the weight you selected, you will need to pay the difference before shipping. In such cases, shipping may be delayed.

Q. Do I have to buy a shipping box?

  • Yes, purchasing a box is mandatory. The international shipping fee is included in the box price, so please be sure to purchase it.

Q. If I choose to ship after 30 days, how long can I continue to purchase items?

  • After purchasing an item from mercari, it can take up to 10 days for the item to arrive at the Otsukai warehouse. Therefore, if you set your shipping date to 30 days later, you can continue to purchase items until 20 days before the shipping date.

  • If you purchase items after the 20-day point, they can only be included in the shipment if they arrive at the warehouse before your scheduled shipping date. Otherwise, separate shipping fees will apply for late items.

Q. Where can I check the total weight of my purchased items?

  • You can check the weight in your Purchase History on My Page.

  • However, the weight will only be reflected after the item arrives at our warehouse, so you cannot check it immediately after purchase.

Q. Are there any handling or packaging fees?

  • The handling fee for bulk shipping is free.

  • However, the regular Otsukai fees still apply: PayPal fee (8%) and Otsukai fee (10%).

Q. Do I need a mercari account to use this service?

  • No, a Mercari account is not required. Otsukai will purchase mercari items using our official account.

Q. Is it safe to buy items from mercari through Otsukai?

  • Yes, in most cases it is safe. If any problems occur, Otsukai will communicate with the mercari seller on your behalf. In the rare event that a return or refund is necessary, your payment on Otsukai will also be refunded, so you can use the service with peace of mind.

Q. Can I contact the mercari seller directly?

  • No, direct communication is not possible. If you have specific questions for the seller, please email Otsukai Support with the URL of the item and your question. We will contact the seller for you.

Q. Can I combine items purchased from mercari and items requested through Otsukai into one shipment?

  • No, this is not possible. They must be shipped separately.


? About Shipping

Q. Can I change my shipping timing at any time?

  • You can select your shipping timing for each purchase. However, you must choose either "ship 30 days later" or "immediate shipping" at the time of your first purchase.

Q. Can I change my delivery address after placing an order?

  • Yes, you can change your address when you purchase a mercari item. If you are unable to change it, please contact support.


? About Payments

Q. When do I pay if I select “One-Time Payment”?

A. You will pay only once, at the time you purchase your first item and choose either "Bulk Shipping (1-month storage)" or "Immediate Shipping." This way, you don’t have to make multiple payments for each item, making your shopping process smooth and easy.


Q. What payment methods can I use?

A. Please use PayPal.

More convenient payment methods may be added in the future based on customer requests.


Q. What happens if I cancel a purchase? Will I get a refund?

A. Rest assured, if your cancellation meets the conditions outlined in our Terms of Service, your payment will be refunded promptly.

However, in principle, cancellations due to reasons such as “I no longer need the item” are not allowed.
Cancellations and refunds are only provided if there are issues such as damage or defects with the item.

? About Shipping Fees

Q. Why is the shipping fee for “Bulk Shipping” such a good deal?

A. With Bulk Shipping, you pay for a shipping plan (for example, “up to 2kg”) up front. As long as your total order stays within that weight limit, you can continue to add items from different mercari sellers during the storage period without paying any additional international shipping fees.
This is a huge advantage compared to paying for international shipping for each item separately.


Q. How much higher is the shipping fee for Immediate Shipping?

A. Shipping costs depend on the weight, size, and destination country. As a general guideline, even shipping a single 500g item internationally will often cost 2,000 yen or more. If you plan to buy multiple items, the Bulk Shipping plan will save you much more overall.


? About Storage & Shipping

Q. What if something happens to my items while they’re in storage?

A. Absolutely—if your items are lost or damaged while stored in our warehouse, Otsukai will fully investigate and, according to our Terms of Service, will offer either a full refund of the purchase price or a replacement of equivalent value (if available).


Q. Can I check my order details and shipping address before shipment?

A. Yes, you can check your order details and delivery address in your My Page.

If you notice any errors in your address, please correct it promptly or contact support. Once your shipping deadline arrives, your items will be shipped automatically.

If you need to change the address after shipping has started, your package will need to be returned and resent, and you will be charged for the additional shipping cost.


⚠️ About Additional Charges

? Important: Our service is based on a “one-time payment” system, but the only exception is “additional charges for exceeding the weight limit.” Think of this as a “plan upgrade,” which only occurs if you enjoy shopping so much that you exceed your original plan.

Q. How and when will I be notified about any additional charges?

A. If the total weight of your box is about to exceed your chosen plan, we will notify you by email with a message like “[Otsukai] Upgrade your shipping plan and save even more with Bulk Shipping!”


Q. What is the deadline for paying additional charges?

A. The deadline is the end of your storage period. For example, if an additional charge is incurred 10 days before your storage ends, you must pay it within those 10 days.


Q. What happens if I don’t pay the additional charges?

A. Unfortunately, if you do not pay the required additional charges, your package cannot be shipped.
If payment is not made by the storage deadline, your account may be temporarily restricted and your items may be considered abandoned and disposed of by Otsukai, in accordance with our Terms of Service.
